Hello
by sweet tee inthis is my first forum post though i've been out here reading yours for a while.
i didn't know how to post my bio.
i became a jdub at the age of 16. i had a child out-of-wedlock who was 1 year old at the time and i was searching for answers - i wanted my son to have a future and the one the witnesses portrayed was better than anything i'd ever heard!

Not a JW, never been, never studied, dated a "double agent" for 5 years and didn't realize what I had gotten myself into until he left to go back. Now we have a son, he's remarried and I'm getting the speedy version of what they are all about! This sight has been very helpful!

Hi KLS
What a predicament....I've always learned to trust my gut on things, even tho I don't always listen to it until its too late. I would probably just take a step back in this one & observe. Perhaps what is bugging you about this girl will show itself to you in time. Unless she's got horns & a tail (possible?) just learn to smile & nod your head until you figure out what it is.
Good luck!

Things that make you feel like a Daddy...
by confusedjw inlast night my daughter (8 years old) came down to the bed with a belly ache.
she has a couple of legit issues which cause belly aches beyond the regular kid stuff.
her poor little face grimaces in pain.. so i had her get into bed, got out my iriver mp3 player, put one of my ear-buds in her ear and one in mine and we listened to music and i rubbed her belly and tapped out the songs we were listening to.

I have a 4 year old and a 16 year old...
With the 16 year old I enjoy hearing how I'm easy to talk to and she can share anything with me (except the new hickey on her neck, but I digress)...she tells me that I'm the coolest mom.
The 4 year old climbing up into my lap to watch a movie, or running ahead of me, only to stop, turn around & say "mommy!!" while running to me with his arms open wide.
When he's happy to see me when I pick him up from his dad's house
When he and his sister fight & drive each other crazy despite the age difference
When he & his sister love each other so much it makes my heart swell
When he and his sister hang out in her room and she makes him comfortable & lets him watch movies in there and he sits on HER lap & watches a movie
Kids are great..wouldn't change any of it!

by AlmostAtheist inhey all,.
we have to decide in the next hour or so, so a quick response would be appreciated!.

I'm with Jane...I had a cat, my daughters cat really, who had cancer in his face. The vet told me that as long as he was "ok" ie: eating, socializing, etc he would be fine, but once he started on the downslide then we'd have to make a decision. He stuck it out for awhile and my daughter was happy, but really, I let him go longer than I should have for my own selfish reasons. Cats do hide their pain well, and when it was apparent that he was dying, it was clear he was suffering and had been. I'm for putting him down now. Maybe have your son visit at the vets office, but make it clear to him that these things happen and the cat will be much happier when he's no longer in pain.
Sorry to hear about your cat by the way, it can be hard to lose a cat and it's really hard to make that final decision. But the cat will appreciate it, I know mine did.
